At Koreo we provide 1-2-1 coaching, train people to become coaches, and introduce coaching approaches into organisations as part of management and leadership development.

At the heart of coaching is the idea that people often have the solutions to their own issues, but sometimes need some help to find them. In a working world where management is less and less about command and control, and more about giving people the autonomy and support to perform to their best, it’s not hard to see why coaching is being sought out and implemented by organisations and individuals alike.



How it Works:

Coaching takes place in confidence, between the person being coached and the coach. The coach can be a trained professional or a suitably trained peer (more about that later). The coachee and the coach have a conversation (usually a series of conversations), through which the coach listens, questions and restates to open up new solutions to achieve a specific goal.

The principle of coaching is that everyone has the solutions to their own problems – and also that people tend to be more enthusiastic about implementing ideas they have worked out themselves. The coach’s purpose is to unlock these solutions, using a non-directive questioning and discussion style.



1-2-1 coaching:

The most common way coaching happens in the workplace is an external coach supporting an individual to work through an issue or series of issues over a set period of time. Many of Koreo’s associates are experienced and accredited coaches who provide 1-2-1 coaching to people at all stages of their career and any level of seniority.



Coaching training:

We are increasingly helping organisations develop coaching capacity in their staff by training their teams in coaching techniques and skills. We often do this by introducing peer coaching programmes to an organisation.



Peer Coaching:

Our peer coaching approach involves bringing people together, allowing colleagues to learn about coaching processes and then practice coaching each other over a period of time.  In a peer coaching situation, two people are partnered and carry out a series of sessions either face to face or virtually, during which they’re asked to reflect on the experience with the Koreo team. We’ve found this type of programme builds trust and respect in an organisation, encouraging people to realise that they can solve problems at their level and amongst themselves rather than always pushing things up the line.



Live team coaching:

In Live Team Coaching, a senior facilitator from Koreo observes a team (often a senior management team) in action, observing behaviour in a real work situation. The group is then coached to see, own and modify those behaviours in a rapid period of time through feedback and challenge.
